MacAllister Family
West Cork Sailing Centre was formed by Gail and Niall MacAllister and is the core of the MacAllister family. Niall MacAllister is the head yachtmaster instructor, Gail the driving force behind marketing and bookings, while their sons, Rory and Oisin, are instructors and skippers. The MacAllister’s are passionate about the local wildlife and love nothing more than sharing that passion of sea, sails and wildlife on their coastal adventures. Niall is a Marine Biologist, Antarctic Skipper and an adventurer, fluent French, excellent chef and qualified Irish Sailing and Royal Yachting Association Instructor. His interest and knowledge of marine life is shared in all our programs. Gail has managed sailing schools, yacht charter in France, England and Ireland. She worked for Irish Sailing for 11 years in development and communications. She was the lead on women participation, cruising and sustainability.

Meet Niall MacAllister, your highly qualified and experienced head instructor and skipper of many a maritime adventure round the world. As a zoologist, ocean yachtmaster, RYA/Irish Sailing yachtmaster instructor, exceptional chef, fluent in French, and a seasoned tour guide, Niall ensures you have a sailing adventure that will stay with you forever and leave you wanting more. West Cork Sailing has a team of RYA and Irish Sailing qualified instructors that have sailed the open oceans of the world, explored Antarctica and have a wealth of experience and adventures to share with you. Our team of qualified instructors have a wealth of experience sailing and sharing their love and respect of the sea and sailing.
The Boat House –
A room with a View
Four ensuite bedrooms, each with a view of the harbour and / or Caha Mountains, and a breakfast room with balcony looking over Adrigole Harbour and out onto the amazing Hungry Hill – the view is simple spectacular. Rooms are available to rent individually and a simple self-service breakfast is provided. The perfect location to explore Beara and beyond. The Boat House was built in 1999 as a purpose carefully design sailing school and café, with underfloor heated classroom, changing rooms, showers, offices and an amazing café.
Our Expeditions
West Cork Sailing gives you the opportunity to enjoy our coastal wildlife from the sea. Common Seals, Grey Seals, Common Dolphins, Porpoises, Minke Whales, sea birds galore are just a few of the most common wildlife species you will see on our adventures and training courses. As well as the rarer sightings of Otters, Basking Sharks, Humpback Whales and Puffins.
