Do I need a car on Beara? There are plenty of bus options to get to The Boat House in Adrigole and continuing exploring the peninsula.

Catching the 232 bus east to Castletownbere or beyond or west of Adrigole to Glengarriff and enjoying a long day hike back on the Beara Way is a great new way to take a brilliant adventure from Adrigole. The new 232 bus service runs through Adrigole each way 5 times a day.
You may enjoy a bus to market too – Thursday Castletownbere small market, Friday Bantry big market, Saturday and Sunday Glengarriff has a collection of food vans and the lovely Blue Pool walks.
The 232 is brilliant for a cheeky lunch time tipple with your cheese toasty in town too 😎
The official bus stop is at The Pass Grocery Store (previously Peg’s Shop), though the driver will happily drop you at the top of the lane to The Boat House (next to the GAA pitch).

- Dzogchen Beara – meditation and amazing cafe.
- Cahermore – take a stroll out to the look out tower or kick about on the beach.
- Allihies – sandy beach, pubs and shop (I highly recommend the crab sanni in ONeills.
- Dursey – for the cable car, amazing views, Garnish beaches and Dursey Boat Trips.

Explore some more and discover Kenmare by bus for the restaurants and shops or use the bus to continue your B&B touring with the 282 bus from Castletownbere to Kenmare.
Market day in Kenmare is Wednesday.
Kenmare is starting to be known as the new Kinsale – charming shops and a wide choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants.

The official bus stop is The Pass Grocery when travelling west and the next to the Hungry Hostel.
