Each room at The Boat House has its own unique vibe, but the moment you step into Egrit, you’re immediately enveloped by a sense of peace and inspiration. Seeking to enhance this tranquil atmosphere, we set out to find the perfect antique writer’s desk to sit beside the picture window—and we found it! This stunning piece, discovered in Ballydehob, fits seamlessly into the room, inviting writers, crafters, and artists to relax, reflect, and create to their heart’s content.
Located upstairs, Egrit boasts a north-facing picture window offering sweeping panoramic views of the harbour entrance and beach. The large bathroom features a funky, deep bath beneath a skylight, perfect for a soothing soak while gazing at the stars or the changing sky. A cozy sofa (which doubles as a sofa bed) and a comfortable king-sized bed tucked in a quiet alcove provide the ideal spaces for rest or reflection.
With blackout blinds throughout, you can shut the world out by day and write or sketch in peace, especially if you find inspiration strikes in the quiet hours of the night.
Egrit is the perfect retreat for any writer, crafter, or artist looking to find both relaxation and inspiration. The shared front room, with its kitchenette, cozy tables, and sofas, is an inviting space to unwind, while the views of the harbour and Hungry Hill mountain offer endless beauty and inspiration. And when you’re in need of a reset, a stroll along the nearby beach, coastline, or pier—or even a refreshing swim—is just moments away.
